ALISON SUMMERS
Co-writer/Director PUNCH ME IN THE STOMACH

Alison Summers is a writer and theatre director. She directed over 35 productions at theaters in New York City including New York Theatre Workshop, Classic Stage Company, Circle Repertory Company, the Womens’ Project and Lincoln Center Theater. She has also been the resident director at New Dramatists, and the Director of Special Events for PEN, the writers organization.

She has written feature articles for  magazines and newspapers in the United Kingdom, and Australia including The Sydney Telegraph, Vogue, The Times (London) The Australian, The Bulletin, The National Times and The Sydney Morning Herald.

In 2010,  she published her first book ‘The Girls Guide to Predators’ with Pan Macmillan.  She is currently at work on a second book

As an editor, Summers has collaborated with writers in many different genres- screenplays, novels, memoirs and plays.   She has been employed by theatres to work with playwrights on developing material, by publishers to work with authors, and by film producers as a story editor.  

Alison Summers lives in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
